Micro-needling treatment does not include exfoliation, it is perfectly matched with the microdermabrasion treatment and can be administered in conjunction 100% of the time. Because of the sloughing off of the dead skin caused by dermabrasion, it makes way for the micro-needling and serums to penetrate. One pass with the microdermabrasion machine causes exfoliation and the breaking down of the dead cell barrier. Then, as the treatment begins, micro-needles puncture the skin, creating a channel or micro-wound. The controlled injury triggers the body to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, new capillaries are formed. This neovascularisation and neocollagenesis following treatment leads to reduction of scars and skin rejuvenation, i.e., improved skin texture, firmness and hydration.
Facial scars are the most common reason why people have skin resurfacing but because many of them have superficial scars (and perhaps a few deeper scars), they don't want to take unnecessary risks, like lasers treatments, chemical peels, subcision or even surgery. That's why microdermabrasion is so appealing. Microdermabrasion may be very useful for people with active acne, mild acne discoloration, pick marks, and very superficial or raised acne scars. Dermatologists use microdermabrasion to help unclog pores and clear acne. Often used in combination with gentle glycolic peels and medical acne extractions, microderm can help speed up acne clearing. How it is performed, essentially, is the skin is sandblasted with a micro-crystal flow which effectively peels off a very fine skin layer. This layer is only made of dead cells which explains why the live tissue underneath is not damaged in any way. Microdermabrasion is effective on both sunken and raised scars but due to its superficial nature, it works better on raised scars than on sunken scars.

Automated micro-needling (also known as epidermal collagen induction therapy or ECIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine that can help treat the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and the skin's overall appearance. During this procedure, the Micro-Needling is used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin.
The benefits of micro-needling can include a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging. Micro-Needling can also have a positive effect on the appearance of hyperpigmentation, dark spots, acne scars, and stretch marks and create a fresher appearance or glow to the skin.
Micro-Needling can be used on all parts of the body; face, neck, decollete, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.
A sterile cartridge tip containing 12 points is attached to the MicroPen®. Your skincare professional will apply a thin layer of topical solution, such as medical-grade Saline, to your skin and select the appropriate pen setting based on your unique needs. Next, in a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered.
The feeling associated with the Micro-Needling is similar to light sandpaper being moved across the skin. While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating MicroPen® tip reduces discomfort while the post-treatment hydrating gel also makes the procedure more tolerable.
The procedure takes 45-60 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
Immediately after the treatment, you will notice a bright redness to the skin. The total healing time depends on the MicroPen® setting used and the number of overlapping passes your skincare professional performs. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours.
Patients notice an immediate "glow" to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several days and weeks. Results continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment as collagen production continues.
Some patients only require a single treatment, once per year to achieve optimal results. However, it is recommended for most patients to receive a series of 4-6 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart. For patients with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks or acne scars, your skin care provider may recommend 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.

WHAT IS GROWTH FACTOR SERUM?
Growth Factor Serum is the latest addition to the Micro Needling procedure. It is specifically designed to aid in the lubrication and enhancement of the skin. Growth Factor Serum can be used in conjunction with other applications including microdermabrasion and laser resurfacing. Growth Factor Serum uses mesenchymal stem cell growth factor (GF) to optimize the skin's response to the Micro Needling procedure. To produce Stem Growth Factors, special types of mesenchymal stem cells are cultured in the laboratory and utilized to create more of the beneficial molecules. The product doesn't contain any cells, only the bio-signals produced are used in Growth Factor Serum. The benefits of Growth Factor Serum are recognized for promoting skin cell proliferation and neocollagenesis.
