What is Fibroblast Plasma Lift (Skin Tightening)?

As we age, the dermal layer of our skin thins, our bodies produce less collagen and we lose elasticity. This is unfortunately a natural aging process which causes wrinkles and sagging of the skin. Our certified plasma pen technicians use the fibroblast plasma treatment to eliminate signs of aging by tightening and lifting sagging skin.

How is this done?

Our Fibroblast Plasma Pen is the world's most advanced, non-invasive, skin lifting, skin tightening and rejuvenation device used to treat wrinkles, sagging and dull skin. The Plasma Pen is a FDA approved, CE approved device used to perform fibroblast therapy, a technique used to stimulate production of collagen in the skin. Micro charges of plasma energy are applied to the skin in a non-contact way via a wand. This causes sublimation of the tissue in very superficial levels, eliminating excess tissue and reducing or in some cases even eliminating wrinkles and saggy tissue.

What does sublimation of the skin mean?
When anything solid turns into gas without becoming a liquid first it is called sublimation. The plasma pen device works by targeting a micro beam of plasma energy onto the skin. This causes skin retraction and tightening around that area only. The sublimation of the skin cell causes immediate tightening and through the healing of the micro wound that is caused the bodies natural healing process produces more collagen to plump, tighten and firm the treated area. The treatment is so precise that only a 1-2mm treatment spot is created.

Does it hurt?
A topical anesthetic is applied to the area to be treated as the procedure can be a little uncomfortable. A slight burning sensation can be felt as the skin becomes heated. The anesthetic helps to make this treatment tolerable.

Are the results visible immediately after the treatment?

Some tightening of the skin will be seen immediately after the treatment, but best results can be seen approximately 6-8 weeks after the procedure. Results can last 9-18 months, lifestyle choices that effect skin ageing and damage are a factor however for longevity. For optimum results more than one treatment may be needed with a minimum of 6 weeks between treatments for the same area.

You can expect to have some redness and swelling immediately after the procedure and for a few days following. Tiny dark brown spots will be seen where the individual micro dots have been placed. The dark spots should be left to fall off naturally as these are protecting the skin underneath. After about 5 days to a week, these will fall off and the skin may still be slightly red.  Sun protection must be applied to protect the healing skin.

FIBROBLAST PLASMA AFTERCARE

The Fibroblast Plasma Pen treatment will produce side-effects after the procedure. This is common and normal. Side effects expected is redness, swelling, and slight pain, this generally subsides after a day or two.

Eye Treatment Area
Day of treatment: Some swelling. Feels hot like a sunburn. This feeling can last for up to 3 hours+
Day 1 (Next day post-treatment): Lots of swelling (the most swelling), especially in the morning.
Day 2: Swelling.
Day 3: Itchy sensation and tightness. Swelling decreases. Dots dry and may start to fall off.

Swelling
You will notice most of the swelling on the first morning after treatment, particularly around the eyes. Swelling usually lasts two to three days. To minimise swelling do the following:

Follow Lymphatic Drainage Protocols.
Sleep elevated the first night. Use as many pillows as you can tolerate.
Avoid salt and alcohol
Body dry brushing
Jade rolling

Heat/Sunburn/Stinging
Feeling hot like a sunburn stinging sensation is normal immediately after the treatment and for the rest of that night.

Itchiness
You will start to feel itchy from the 3rd day. Do not pick at the dots. The itchiness sensation means that the dots are starting to heal and are getting ready to dry and fall off.

Dry skin
Your skin may feel dry, peel or flake. You may notice a "sandpaper" texture a few days after treatment. This is the treated tissue working its way out of your body as new fresh skin is regenerated.

Redness
Most redness resolves during the first week after treatment, but a rosy "glow" can remain for several weeks. After the carbon crusts (dots) have fallen off, 5 to 7 days after the treatment, that's when you can apply your normal coverage of makeup.

Bronzing, Crusting and Small Dark Dots
The Fibroblast Plasma Pen treatment causes destruction to microscopic cylinders of skin which then exfoliates during the healing process. The treatment can make the skin look bronzed, or small areas appear crusted (do not try to scratch them off). Scratching off any carbon deposits (dots) may result in infection, scarring and hypo-pigmentation of the skin that may not be able to be reversed. Please refrain from scratching any areas that are healing.

Raw Skin
If you develop areas of raw skin post treatment, keep them moist with the provided ointment and our Fibroblast Aftercare. You do not need to apply band-aids, but keep the areas moist and do not pick at them. They will heal very rapidly on their own and without problems.

Weeping
Initially, after treatment and for a day or so afterward, there may be occasional weeping (yellow pus). This is simply plasma and is a natural healing response. This simply flakes off after a few days but in some cases can take over 1 week.

How to Care for Your Skin After Treatment

Wash the area gently with warm water, carefully pat dry. Apply a small pea size of Aftercare cream 2 x per day

Do not use Actives or Anti Ageing Creams (Retinols, Tretonin, Retin A)

No Sauna
